Man dies in the middle of a lap dance at a strip club

They say you should go out doing what you love. A 67-year-old Texas man may have taken that inspirational advice to heart Friday night when he died at a strip club while getting erotic lap dances. According to a manager at the Red Parrot, Robert Gene White was face-deep in pelvic gyrations when it came time to pay the girls and he was found unresponsive. Staff attempted CPR before calling emergency responders, who took the man to the hospital. We can only guess White’s final earthly sights, but we’re pretty sure he passed on to the other side with pleasant visions in tow.

I named my blog “A View from Stage-Side, Looking Up” because it is my venue for reflections and observations from the customer’s point of view. But even though it is written by me, a club patron, it is the dancers who are the center of attention; I am only here to admire and tip.

I chose this picture as my icon because it represents what I think for me would be the hardest part of dancing to handle on a day-to-day basis: Giving your all on-stage to an indifferent and apathetic audience. I know that it is a daily reality for many of you, but I hope and pray that I never give that impression here; I care deeply for the world of dancers and the art of exotic dancing, and want all of you to know how respected and appreciated you are to me.
